The Association for Catholic Childhood is an organization f Catholic women united for the purpose of preserving and promoting the spiritual, ma- erial and social needs of tholic children in the Arch- )cese of Seattle. The Asso- i clarion, in its 4Sth now year, |is in the process of organizing LLts s0fh Circle. Membership is Irresfricted o practicing Cafh- l olic women. There are two types of membership: GENERAL MEMBERS: a. Obtain membership by presentation of the name of a prospective mem- ber by a board member to the board for approval. Dues are $5.00 per year. c. Functions: Volunteer services for all Association activities, goodwill and promotion. CIRCLES: a. A Circle sponsors its own members. Each Circle is a unified social- welfare group with its own by-laws and endeavors. b. Monetary support in addition fo dues. c. Circles are working groups and are asked to give time at all Associa- tion projects. FANTASY FAIR is a joint effort of all the Circles. Chairmen this year are the Mesdames John Davis and George Nor- ton assisted by the Margaret Abel Cir- cle. The dinner committee is headed by the Mesdames John Bruno and Robert Moody. A marvelous time has been planned for all. A full-length Disney movie (Dumbo) in Buhr Hell. Baby sitting for children 2 to 5 years. Games Galore! Christmas selections, aprons, bean bags. Christmas stockings, decorations, Nativ- ity sets, bridge cards, tallies, doll clothes and many others. Bakery goods to buy and snack bar. Candy, jams and jellies, white elephants. The Association under the able guidance of its president Mrs. Allen MacOuarrie, invites you to its Fantasy Fair Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Seattle University. TEENS, TOO: Junior Association mem- bers will dance at a sock hop on Friday, Nov. 15 in the Seattle University gym. Music by The Coachmen, 8:00-11:30. Tickets will be presold through Junior Association members. OTHER MAIN PROJECTS FOR THE YEAR INCLUDE: AUTO LICENSE SALE by the Anne Dana- hoe Circle, January, 1964 (at Foodland, 1400 East Pine.) "CANAPES BY CANDLELIGHT" by the Marie Louise Bordeau Circle highlights the social calendar. It is slated at the Tennis Club January 25, 1964, from 7:30 to I 0:30. CALENDARS: The sale of calenders ;s another stable source of income. They show days of fast and abstinence and other pertinent Catholic information and have space to mark important engage- menfs. ANGEL DUTY: Is a volunteer service to release the time of trained social work- ers for other duties. Members are asked to give a minimum of one day service annually. As the numbers of children in- creese it is difficult o state the amount the Association saves Catholic Charities. "SOUND OF MUSIC" opening night at the OPERA HOUSE January 6fh. Tickets are now available at the Ban Marche or through Association members. All pro- ceeds of the evening go to the Associa- ion and ere TAX DEDUCTIBLE. No price change--excellent Christmas gifts. Association [or Catholic Childhood membership is open to practicing Catholic women. Their 'orks and services augment those of the UGN at Catholic Children's Services.
