The SUCCESS of the HNS depends upon THREE basic things: SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES A definite and adequate plan of Action for achieving these objectives. COMPETENT LEADERSHIP 7. Suggested outline of Holy Name Objectives, Action and Leadership: 8. If the leadership succeeds in giving life to the ACTION, the Holy Name OBJECTIVES will be achieved, and we shall then be a "nucleus in every parish to set the style of Christian living and show what Catholic men are," as was requested of us by Archbishop Connolly. LEADERSHIP is the most important factor in a successful program. The problem is to develop lead- ership where it is lacking, and to improve the quality of leadership where it is found. Do not refuse an ap- poinanent! You will be surprised how quickly you improve, simply by DOING your job as best you can. 9. Three requirements for each Holy Name Society: Archbishop's consent. Diploma. Register (cf. OIFICIAL HOLY NAME MANUAL- MISSAL, page B4). 10. It is recommended that the Official Reception cere- mony take place each year. 11. Wear the Holy Name button as the public declaration of your loyalty to Christ. 12. For the list of the Holy Name Spiritual Benefits, Cf. OFFICIAL HOLY NAME MANUAL-MISSAL, page B6. Officers of the Archdiocesan Union, your District Or- ganizational Team, or your Branch Organizational Team are prepared to explain in detail this Holy Name Society Parish Set-Up.
