Sf. Edward's Seminary KENMORE-- ENTY-ONE senior high school aduates received eir diplo- mas in commencement ceremo- nies Thursday at St. Edward's Seminary. Their appearance at the May 27 commencement e e r e m o n y marked the first time high school diplomas had been pre- sented to senior thigh school graduates. Traditionally, only second-year college minor seminarians re- ceived diplomas and fourth-year college major seminarians from St. Thomas Seminary were granted bachelor of arts degrees. Eighteen were awarded junior college diplomas and 24 were be- stowed with bachelor's tlegrees at the exercises, presided" by the Most Reverend Thomas A. Con- trolly, Archbishop of Seattle. Commencement speaker was 'Father Gerald Moffat, archdioce- san CYO director. Included in the 'high school grad- uates were 16 from the Archdio- cese and five from the Diocese of Yakima. Junior college diploma / recipients included 45 from the Archdiocese and three from the Yakima diocese. Bachelor of arts degrees were given to 13 from the Archdiocese, three each from the Archdiocese of Portland and Dio- ceses of Spokane and Great Falls and two from the Diocese of Boise.
