he 67th commencement ceremony for Aquinas High School will be held at 8 p.m.
Friday, May 31, in the school auditorium.
The Most Reverend Thomas A. Connolly, Archbishop of Seattle, will preside and
present diplomas to 65 graduating seniors of the parochial school f0r girls.
Super/or Court Judge ,Robert A. Jacques will be the principal speaker.
Heading the Class of 1963 will be Sheila McMenamin as valedictorian. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McMenamin, 6102 N. Park St. in Tacoma.
Salutatorian will be Janet Dupas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dupas, 4006
N. 14th St. in Tacoma.
Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. this Sunday in St. Patrick's
Church. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Edward J. McFadden, pastor, will give the sermon.
Breakfast will follow in the Top of the Ocean Restaurant.
Other graduation events have included an awards assembly, Miss Aquinas DaF
and a coronation ball.
Aquinas, one of two Catholic schools for girls in Tacoma, is conducted by Dominican
Sisters of the Congregation of St. Thomas Aquinas. Sister M. Dominica, OP, is principal.
