Theater Children Set Play, Dance Festival ,- EVERETTApproximately 40 children will ap- _'pear in three short plays and 70 dancers will sing and dance at the Catholic Children's Theater unit's Dance and Play Festival Thursday and Friday, May 10-11, in Immaculate Conception Parish Hall here. The stage productions will mark the close of the CCT unit's first year of successful activities. St. Martin's Keehl Fund Aids Orphans, Indigents OLYMPIA--New opportunities are now avail- able at St. Martin's College and High School "for the support or education of orphans or indigent chil- dren," according to the provisions of the recently" organized Keehl Fund. In 1940 Dr. Walter E. Keehl Olympia K of C Sets Jubilee OLYMPIA-- A dinner, marking the 50th anni- versary of the institution of Knights of Columbus' Olym- pia Council, will be held Sun- day, April 29, in St. Martin's College here. Principal addresses will be given by Re. Rev. Raphael Heider, O.S.B., Abbot; and Edward J. Logan of Seattle, state deputy. Two, surviving the 33-mem- ber chaer class, will be hon- ored guests. They are Ralph Fuller and Herbert Deyette. Two other Knights will also be cited for their 50 years of I membersh,p. The pair are Henry Ruder and Charles Baisch. Carl Ruder will be master of ceremonies at the dinner to start at 6;39 p.m. Heading the list of digni- taries will be Rev. Leonard Rafatowski, administrator of St. Michael's Par!sh here and Council chaplain; Rev. A. L. Leahy, pastor of Seattle's Christ the King Parish and former chaplain; Grand Knight Robert Engel, besides state, district and neighboring coun- cil officers. The St. Martin's Glee Club will sing. Handling arrangements are Phil Brown, general program chairman, and co-chairmen, District Deputy George Mc- Cusker, William Robbins and Leonard Specht. Renton Knights To Observe of Seattle established a trust estate which he bequeathed to St. Martin's for "use within the State of Washington" in support of orphans or indigents. Dr. Keehl died in 1947. The estate came to St. Martin's after the death last May of the doctor's wife, Mrs. Sylvia Keehl. The Student Aid Commit- tee of St. Martin's College and High School will wel- come inquiries from those who are qualified to request the kind of assistance pro- vided by the Keehl Fund The present policy of the St. Martin's Corporation is to main- tain the bequest in its entirety as the Keehl Fund and to use Four Of SMC's '12 Angry Men FINAL PLANS for St. Martin's College's production, "Twelve Angry Men," are being discussed (from left) by Ga Graham, Mike Smith, Paul Flint and George Ser- reccgia. The play will be presented at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, and at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, in the Abbey Theater on campus. The Ray. The annual income from the fund can support about 30 to 40 students. Dr. Keehl became interested in St. Martin's when he lived in Cle Elum and met Rev. Al- fred Gendreau, O.S.B., pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish there from 1915 to 1933. Dr. Keen was a practicing physician in Cle Elum for man.y years before retiring and moving to Seattle in 1940. Though not a Catholic, he had a Christian desire that his wealth should benefit others in a practical way. With a spe- cial interest in orphans and the needy, Dr. Keehl shaped his desire into the form of the Keehl Fund. The generous doctor has, according to Rt. Re,. Ra- phael Heider, O.S.B., Abbot, presented to the college and high school the largest indi- vidual benefaction in St Mar- tin's history and the great- est opportunity for aiding those in need of financial as- sistance in education. Other financial aid at SMC includes some 30 scholarships, Edmonds Parish Guilds Slate Events EDMONDS--Three guilds of Holy R o s a r y Parish have scheduled events for the com- ing two weeks. Queen of Wisdom Guild will have a fashion show Wednes- day, May 9, at 1 p.m. in the parish hall. Entitled "C-Fair Fashions" models will represent the dif- ferent guilds in the parish. A demomstration of floral ar- rangements will be sponsored by Queen of Angels Guild Thursday, May 3, at 8 p.m. in the parish hall.
