STANDING in front of St. Edward's Seminary in Kenmore. its president since 1956, Very Rev. Michael J. O'Neill. S.S.. S.T,B.. contemplates the development of the archdiocesan minor seminary'S future. To his left stands a familiar 19ndmark on the seminary grounds, the statue of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom. Opened in 1931, St. Edward's was designed to accommodate 112 students. A major seminary department was added in 1935 And later transferred to nearby St. Thomas Semi- March 15, 1963 Catholic Northwest Prolress--5 nary in 1959. One hundred and ninety,-nine semi- narians, including 47 freshman and sophomore college students, today live at St. Edward's.
